Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) is part of the Terms of Service. It describes what you may and may not do with your Maker account, your store, and your use of the platform. We enforce this to keep merchants, customers, and payment partners safe.
Prohibited products and services
You may not use Maker to sell or promote:
- Firearms, ammunition, explosives, 3D-printable weapon files, or weapon conversion kits.
- Controlled substances, prescription drugs sold without a license, or drug paraphernalia.
- Tobacco, vaping, or nicotine products in jurisdictions where their sale online is restricted.
- Live animals or products from endangered species.
- Counterfeit goods, replicas, or items that infringe a third party's intellectual property.
- Adult content, sexual services, or products depicting non-consensual or underage scenarios.
- Gambling, lotteries, and prize-based products where illegal.
- Multi-level marketing, pyramid schemes, or “get rich quick” programs.
- Cryptocurrency mining services, token sales, or regulated financial products without the appropriate licenses.
- Items or services that promote violence, hate, or terrorism.
Prohibited conduct
- Sending unsolicited commercial messages (spam) from your store or using our transactional email system for marketing without consent.
- Scraping, probing, or reverse-engineering the platform beyond the documented APIs.
- Overloading the APIs beyond your plan's rate limits or circumventing security controls.
- Hosting malware, phishing kits, or any content designed to harm visitors.
- Collecting personal information from customers without a privacy policy or lawful basis.
- Reselling or sublicensing the Maker service to third parties without a written agreement.
High-risk categories
Some categories are allowed with extra review: supplements, CBD-derived products, alcohol, firearms accessories (non-functional), and adult wellness products. Email [email protected] before launching so we can align with your payment processor.
Enforcement
Violations may result in a warning, temporary suspension, or permanent termination depending on severity. We may suspend immediately where there is risk to customers, to our payment partners, or to the platform. We'll give you a clear reason and, where possible, an opportunity to cure the violation.
